00006 | A Graduation, by Degrees

00006 | A Graduation, by Degrees

Ash graduated his first year of preschool today.

I don't remember graduating preschool.  I suspect it was never a thing, really.  Needless to say, the moment was captured, experienced, and re-experienced.  He was adorable, they all were.

Got me thinking about the terminology though.  I never thought of the whole word use around this.  But, to 'graduate', you're handed a diploma, and often have completed a 'degree'.  They're both kind of words for segment, in my mind like a degree of a circle.

Turns out, when I looked into it, that's exactly where the source came from.  They both reflect the idea of a 'step' having been taken, I just never caught on to the literal nature of the terminology around Graduation.

You might say it came to me slowly over time, then all of a sudden.

Peace,

Shane
